Funding Rate Comparison
The Funding Rate Comparison tool provides a consolidated view of funding rates across all perpetual markets on GX Exchange, making it easy to identify opportunities and manage funding exposure. Access it at /funding-comparison.
Overview
Funding rates are periodic payments between long and short holders that keep perpetual contract prices anchored to the underlying spot price. The comparison tool aggregates these rates into a single sortable, filterable dashboard.
Dashboard Layout
The comparison table displays the following columns for each market:

| Current rate | The funding rate for the current period |
| 1h average | Rolling 1-hour average funding rate |
| 8h average | Rolling 8-hour average funding rate |
| 24h average | Rolling 24-hour average funding rate |
| 7d average | Rolling 7-day average funding rate |
| Annualized | The 24h average rate annualized (rate x 365) |
| Open interest | Total open interest in the market |
| Direction | Whether longs are paying shorts or vice versa |
Sorting and Filtering
- Sort by any column to quickly find the highest or lowest funding rates
- Filter by category: Crypto majors, altcoins, RWA perpetuals, indices, prediction markets
- Filter by direction: Show only markets where longs pay or where shorts pay
- Search: Find a specific market by name or ticker
Identifying Opportunities
Funding Arbitrage
Markets with elevated funding rates present opportunities:
- Positive funding (longs pay shorts): Consider opening a short position to collect funding while hedging spot exposure elsewhere
- Negative funding (shorts pay longs): Consider opening a long position to collect funding while hedging with a short on another venue
Basis Trading
The annualized column helps identify markets where the funding yield exceeds the cost of capital, enabling delta-neutral basis trades.
Historical Funding Data
Each market links to a detailed historical funding chart:
- Time-series chart: Funding rate plotted over time with configurable date ranges
- Cumulative funding: Total funding paid or received for a hypothetical 1-contract position
- Distribution histogram: Frequency distribution of historical funding rates
- Funding calendar: Daily breakdown of all funding payments
Update Frequency
Funding rates on GX Exchange are calculated and settled every 8 hours at 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 UTC. The comparison dashboard updates in real time as the predicted next funding rate adjusts based on current market conditions.
